About MBSS

Mount Baker Secondary School is located in Cranbrook, British Columbia, Canada in an area of the province called the East Kootenays.

Mount Baker Secondary School hosts grades 10, 11 and 12 and is the only Secondary School in Cranbrook. There are two Middle Schools that feed Mount Baker - Park Land Middle School and Laurie Middle School.

Baker is currently on a semester system with four classes per semester. The schedule has four classes per day which rotate based on the day of the week. Extra time has been added to the school day to allow for 'flex' days which have been spread throughout the year. One benefit is an extra week's holiday at spring break in March.

We have a student population of approximately 900. There are 50 teachers and 3 administrators.

The school has strong fine arts, technology, outdoor education, physical education and business programs as well as very successful academic programs. There is a strong student services and counseling department to support all the education programs.

We field sports teams in soccer, volleyball, basketball, track, baseball, golf and both a boys' and a girls' rugby squad.
