The various areas that will be touched on in this course will be: Animation program - Macromedia Flash Photo & Text Manipulation program - Photoshop 4.01 advanced text effects advanced photo retouching / digital enhancement use of filters Practical reformat & partition hard disk clean reinstall of operating system peer-to-peer networking Programming program - Borland C++ v.4.5 a review of: input/output statements conditional statements (if...else) loops functions programming in graphics mode programming simple animations Technology Vocabulary Students will add to the computer vocabulary acquired in Information Technology 11. Web Page Design/Construction browser - Internet Explorer and CSE Validator Lite web page construction (several styles) advanced HTML techniques: forms javascript css stylesheets organizing a web site (i.e. folder hierarchy) creation of a multi-page web site uploading of site to World Wide Web Evaluation Students will be given frequent short multiple choice tests to check their understanding of technological terms, 'computer trivia' and application knowledge. Students will be assigned a number of individual projects during each section of the course to help evaluate their practical skills. This course will have a final exam that consists of a short general knowledge section and a practical section where a student will have to demonstrate his/her abilities in one of the practical areas of the course, i.e. html, programming, animation, photo/text manipulation. The final exam will account for 20% of a student's final grade. Class work will account for the rest.
